The study will examine the connections between these developing geographical ideas and the implications for global and local development.

Focus: The objective of this dissertation is to examine the effect climate change, such as sea-level rise and storm intensity, might have on coastal erosion in a special geography; and possible ecological and socio-economic ramifications.

2. Urbanization and Sustainable Development: Investigating the Role of Green Infrastructure in Taiwan

Focus: This research would identify whether rapid urbanization is hindering sustainability, how green infrastructure might reduce urban environmental impacts, and examples of urban green infrastructure such as parks and green roofs.

5. Sustainable Agriculture Practices: Evaluating the Effects of Agroforestry on Rural Development

Focus: This research will examine the extent to which agroforestry systems can improve sustainability in agricultural practice while developing rural areas through better land management, biodiversity, and economic factors.

6. Environmental Justice and Access to Resources: Evidence from Oman

Focus: This dissertation will analyze the geographic distribution of environmental resources – for example, clean water and air – as well as pinpoint and examine the spatial injustices in access to all environmental resources based upon geographic location.

Focus: This dissertation will study the various roles policy and governance can play in terms of managing water resources, how successful regions have been compared to other regions that have struggled with equitable and sustainable distribution.

8. Tourism and its Impacts on Local Economies: A Geography of Netherlands

Focus: This dissertation investigates tourism geography, how this tourism geography can affect a local economy and culture, the local environment, and whether tourism development can be sustainable rather than having negative influences.

9. Transportation Networks and Economic Development: A Comparison of UK

Focus: This dissertation examines how transportation infrastructure and connectivity can lead to economic growth and regional development within developing or underdeveloped economy regions.

10. The Effect of Land Use Change on Biodiversity: A Study of the USA

Focus: This dissertation research explores the effects of agricultural and urban land use change on local biodiversity; and the effects on sustainability of ecosystems for wildlife conservation.
