I find challenge in drafting my research objectives for my proposal on Digital transformation


The evolution of digital technologies in the business world has brought major changes to the organizations considerably. Digital technologies have offered many suggestions for improving business processes, and also created vast opportunities for Entrepreneurs and Researchers. This paper aims to acquire knowledge based on the research in digital transformation, integrating the analysis of the research, and extracting the concepts and ideas from many fields. The study also aims at acknowledging digital technologies’ role in business transformations. The aim of the paper is to explain how digital transformation has an impact on business enterprises (Nambisan et al., 2019).


Information technology and digital skills are used for renovating the ideas of a researcher and business methods to efficiently improve the growth of the business organizations in the digital world. This concept is termed as digital transformation. Many organizations have implemented innovative digital technologies like analytics and business intelligence in their field and also make use of smart devices that facilitate the growth of business processes, relationships with customers, ways to manufacture and provide services innovatively, thus leading to transformations in business. Due to digital transformations, many organizations are facing many issues and difficulties to survive in this digital world. This study helps the entrepreneurs to understand the concept of digital transformation and to survive in the rapidly evolving digital world (Park et al., 2020).

Concept of Digital Transformation

We are using digital technologies in every aspect of our lives. Digital Transformation not only refers to the development of technology but it also emphasizes the transformation in the business field. Digital transformation has brought rapid changes in the business field.  It has drawn vast changes to the concept of business. This digitization has a great impact on society, people, communication, and also the business.  Innovation arises from incorporating the computing technologies, information and communication, and connectivity technologies. There are vast areas in technology that has evolved due to digital transformation.

In brief, the transformation in business leads to the following changes.

(1) Methods that are supported digitally and are cross-linked,

(2) Communication processes that are digitalized, and

(3) Innovative ways to create novelty in the digital field.

The innovative fields in the business are e-banking, e-tourism, e-government, e-marketing, and e-health (trending field in medicine). These fields incorporate digitalization to improve their business. Even though there are positive effects on digital transformation, many Researchers feel negativity in the concept of digitalization. The latest method in digital technologies has resulted in a decrease of the employees’ involvement in many fields. Entrepreneurs assess digital transformation in many fields and also their negative effects and the purpose of digital transformation to improve the business (Park et al., 2020).

The objectives of DT and the need for DT in organizations

The growing use of digital technologies has enhanced business processes and concepts. It has also changed the way the enterprises compete and interact and also transformed user behavior and expectations in business. The business environments are changing unsteadily. The business environments are trying to influence the opportunities of digital technologies.

Organizations should be aware of the transformation in the digital industry in which they work. Digital transformation is prompted to be used due to the shift in customer needs and expectations. Additionally, organizations face issues in digitalization through their competitors and new entrepreneurs who use new digital models in their business. The advancement in the digital field makes organizations actively engage in organizational transformation.

The main purpose of a digital transformation is that all organizations should adapt to the digital revolution. Digital transformation mainly focuses on enhancing the quality of the new product, to make innovative productions, and to find and enhance new models in order to maintain competency in business, and also to generate income. These are the main objectives of the digital transformation.


Factors to accomplish digital transformation

To make the digital transformation a successful one, all organizations must accept and acknowledge the method that supports both business processes and the idea of information technology. The significant activity in business is to enhance creativity to bring innovative ideas, readiness to acknowledge the transformation, and manipulating new ideas to meet user’s needs. An organization that accepts this transformation will accept and execute digital technologies. The motivation of the entrepreneurs to learn new concepts in digitalization, accepting failure in the business and commercial way of thinking to produce a profit in the business are the key points to achieve success in the business (Osmundsen et al., 2018).

Effects of Digital Transformation

As a result of Digital Transformation, the needs and demands of the customers are changing along with the relationship between the user and the manufacturer. Customers’ understanding of the concept of digital transformation has vastly increased as the availability and the openness of the product has increased.  Digital devices allow users to access services anytime and anywhere. Users have also improved their proficiency in digital technologies so that they are able to assess the products they buy online without the need to consult anyone. The users can access the information directly from online sites. Information about the products are shared to the customers through blogs, advertising channels, websites, etc., (Tolboom, 2016).


Digital Transformation is emerging rapidly in the business field. It is the recreation of the past inventions in the IT field with innovative ideas. Alternatively, Researchers argue that Digital Transformation contains innovative ideas that require the attention of the customer and this poses a challenging task for the researchers. Therefore, research must be carried to identify the features of the digital transformation and a model must be proposed to achieve the digital transformation (Reis et al., 2018).

Future work

The effect of digital transformation varies according to the field. Research has shown that certain businesses could provide a unique and valuable method to shine in the field of digital technology. The framework of the business model can be used as an alternative in this research. In future research, organizations should research other digital technologies (Tolboom, 2016).
