Assisted Reality And Virtual Reality
Assisted reality is basically a non-immersive visualization of content still having contextual awareness. There is a difference between non-immersive visualization of content and the real content. The goal of assisted reality is no different from augmented reality. It helps the user understand and handle situational awareness. Initially assisted reality was born as a skill striving to define and differentiate different user experiences within the broader augmented reality context. Augmented reality is a very broad word, so assisted reality was coined to specifically focus on the non-immersive wearable experiences boosting persons situational awareness. Essentially assisted reality is a subdomain or Grubert et al. (2017) experience within the augmented reality spectrum.
Effects associated with assisted reality are vast. To start with the benefits in various areas, AR is basically a wearable user experience. Assisted reality has less stringent hardware requirements compared to the other mixed reality counterparts delivering the positive user experience.The Other benefit of assisted reality concerns the Enterprises support its hardware requirements. The hardware requirements for assisted reality experience do not require any kind of data preparation of formatting.
The data is really focused on being able to deliver quality content. Hence it takes away the need to figure out the 3D content pipeline (Crucius, 2018). Enterprises can focus only on leveraging content existing within their organization. Hence significantly cutting back on cost as well as time in getting the initial return on investment from the solution. Essentially it enables lower cost with a faster time to implement. Customers are steering towards assisted reality and eventually building up their capabilities for a more immersive mixed reality solution.
Virtual reality is the use of Computer technology in the creation of a simulated environment, unlike traditional user interfaces. The reality places the user inside an experience instead of using a screen before them. The end users are immersed and able to interact with 3D worlds.
For the simulation the sensors such as vision, hearing and touch are used to their full capacity (Stephanie, 2019). The system generating the reality is transformed into gatekeeper to this artificial world. The recognizable component is the head-mounted display. Human beings are basically visual creatures, and the display Technologies is the single biggest difference between immersive virtual systems and traditional user interfaces. Due to the emergence of new hardware and software options the future of virtual reality variables is yet unknown. The existing concepts such as PlayStation VR, Oculus Quest are (Quora, 2018) leading the way but the world is also dominated by players like Google Apple and Samsung etc. The industry may be surprised by them by their levels of immersion and usability. The simplicity of helmet size wearable is at the centre stage to virtual reality Technologies.
Virtual reality systems and audio systems go hand in hand. Graphics is not the only thing for the creation of convincing virtual reality applications. The reality is created by altering a person’s sense of space. Hearing and vision take the centre stage for this alteration. Human beings are more reactive to audio cues than visual ones (Marr, 2019). In order to create a truly immersive virtual reality experience environmental sounds and spatial characteristics must go hand in hand. These are important in the creation of a powerful sense of presence to this reality. Audiovisual information is easily replicated in virtual reality. Active research and developmental efforts are still being conducted into the other senses to enhance the virtual experience.
Science is combining virtual experience with human dynamism or kinetics. The simulation of virtual reality was done to human being sitting on a chair whereas now human beings in omnidirectional treadmills feel an enhanced experience of the virtual reality (Blascovich, 2019). User experiences are enhanced based on tactile inputs.
Virtual reality and augmented reality are basically the two sides of the same coin. Augmented reality can be described as virtual reality with one foot in the real world.
Based upon experiences Augmented reality can look sheepish in front of virtual reality. The reality is that Augmented reality basically something else and virtual reality something else, both should not be mixed. AR should not be considered as an inferior version to VR, scientifically and experientially; they both are different. Assisted reality and virtual reality experiences do not come with any rules or laws but it that does not give us the license to use it as we may wish (Girish, 2019).
Virtual reality experiences must be used be used in a productive manner. Hence certain rules and disciplines need to be followed by the individual. The rules and the discipline make sure that the virtual experience is not used to fuel human fantasies in a negative way. To make this experience enhance productivity certain measures need to be taken.
