Citizens of Democratic Republic of Congo have suffered enormously due to ravages of war with constant decline in finance, infrastructure and natural assets. Majority of the population is poor, and thus lack health care and good housing. National and International, governmental and nongovernmental organisations with humanitarian and development aids are trying to put the country back on track. Healthcare system which was in shambles started its way to recovery with the Health System Strengthening Strategy formulated in 2010. Salient points: 1

Customarily mining companies were involved in providing health, education and housing for it’s employees, collapsed as a fallout of the war. Urbanisation and Industrial development hold the key to providing basic necessities. The 2011 Land Tenure Act enables those having temporary occupancy sanctions in urban areas to translate those permits into permanent title deeds without additional expense. Better tenure security also helps by augmenting infrastructure.
