The main objective of health economics is to assist decision making in the healthcare sector of the society. The health economics helps in examining a wide range of issues like nature and health production health and medical care market to the intervention’s micro evaluation.

Outside UK, the principal activity of economists is to evaluate medical interventions. People who need to make decisions but have limited resources feels it’s necessary to compare costs of diagnostics with the consequences along with options of treatment so that they can wisely place their scarce resources.

Economic health is simply the study of healthcare demand where it is considered one of the many factors of producing health. Factors like income, wealth, public health infrastructure etc. help in determination of production of health. Many such factors help in contribution of medical care to good health.
