What are the challenges in data mining?

Some of the challenges in data mining are listed below:

  • Methodology challenge: challenges related to approaches and limitations of data mining fall under this category. Differently based upon data considerations may have different implementations of varying approaches. Most of these contain exceptions or invalid information leading to a complicated analytical process.
  • Security and social challenge: data collection and sharing leads to decision making thus asking for considerable security. For customer profiles and user behavior pattern understanding. their private information is collected. The illegal access of such data is a growing issue in the industry.
  • User interface: the data discovered out of data mining tools are only useful if they are interesting and understandable. Ease of mining results can be done by better visualization or interpretation of data.
